All Events: Five round Swiss tournaments played under the rules of Chess Scotland.
Sections A to D - Ratings In determining which section to enter, players should use their start of season Chess Scotland grading, as published in the CS grading list, July 2017. Players wishing to play in a higher section and who have a live CS grade or FIDE grade at the 31st March 2018 which would be high enough to qualify may do so but should state the section they wish to play in at the time of entry. Players cannot play down a section based on live grades. Latest FIDE or national ratings will be used for non-CS rated players. Seedings for Sections A and B will be determined by FIDE ratings. Where a player does not have a FIDE rating their national rating will be used. For ECF rated players the conversion that will be applied is as per the CS Chief Grading Officers recommendation. ECF *10+180 = CS, so an ECF player rated 100 will convert to 1180 CS
Entries should be received by 13:00 Friday May 25th 2018.

GRAND PRIX EVENTS
Events will form part of the ChessBase Grand Prix and (where appropriate) the Walter Munn Junior Grand Prix organised by Chess Scotland.
The organisers reserve the right to:
1st - £150
2nd - £100
3rd - £50
Grading Prizes - £30
Additional prizes may be added depending on entries.
Where places are tied for, the prizes will be shared.
There will be no official prize giving immediately after the congress. All prizes will be mailed by cheque or paid by bank transfer in the week following the congress.
It is therefore important that all entrants provide a home address or a contact e-mail to ensure that all prize winners receive their prize.
This saves players who finish early in round 5 from waiting around to receive prizes and allows the organising team to clear down the event and travel home at a reasonable hour.
